Mini Muscle Madness (grades K-1) - This club will meet every other Friday (B week), beginning Friday, 9/7/18 - 5/3/19, from 7:30-7:50 a.m. in room 103.  Hosted by the Kindergarten team who will use activities and games to strengthen fine motor skills for students in grades K & 1st grade.


Art Club (grades K-3) - This club will meet every other Thursday (B week) beginning on Thursday, 9/6, @ 7:30 a.m. in Room 204. Hosted by the 1st grade team. This club will explore various artistic techniques to create art pieces appropriate for K-3 students.  


Readers Theater (grades 2-4) - This club will meet every other Thursday (B week), beginning on Thursday, 9/6, @ 7:30 am in room 110, and ends at Spring Break. Hosted by the 2nd grade team. Students will perform by reading from scripts. The goal is to enhance reading skills and confidence while having fun.


Garden Club (all grades) - This club will meet in room 112 for the first meeting, then at the garden, on the following Thursdays from 3:00-3:45 pm.  We will meet on the following Thursdays:

Hosted by the 3rd grade team.  The Garden Club will learn about various vegetables and flowers native to Arizona. The club will engage in the planting process to provide campus beautification.


Zoology Club (grades 4-6) - Meetings will be once a month on Thursdays @ 7:30 am in the project room #115:  September 13, October 18, November 8, December 13, January 10, February 14, March 21, April 11, and May 9.  Hosted by the 4th grade team. We will explore animal habitats with projects involving technology. This club will be student led culminating with a night spent at the Phoenix Zoo.


Mustang News (grades 4-6) - This club will meet every other Tuesday (A week), beginning on Tuesday, 9/11, from 3:00-3:45 pm in room 129.  Hosted by the 5th grade team. We will have students make videos about current news and school news to show on the morning announcements.


Homework Club (6th grade) - This club will meet every Tuesday, beginning Tuesday, 9/04, from 3:00-3:45 p.m. in the 6th grade hallway.  Hosted by the 6th grade team. 6th grade students are given time to make up work from being absent, given time to complete daily home reading, and receive help with homework.  


Battle of the Books (grades 5-6) - TBD Start date.  Hosted by Mrs. Aisen. Battle of the books teams read books and ‘battle’ to earn points. The team with the most points will go on to represent Meridian at the district this spring. Permission slips with list of books and battles will go home fourth week of August.


SHO Club (grades 3-6) Students Helping Others - The first meeting will be Wednesday, 9/5, @ 7:30 a.m. in room 127.  Hosted by Mrs. Gale and Mrs. Ciancuillo. This club integrates Special Education students with General Education students to form positive relationships and outcomes.  Peer buddies will help students on the playground, at lunch, in group activities, and during specials.


Crafting for a Cause Club - (grades 3-6) - This club will meet every other Monday (A week), beginning Monday, September 10th, from 3:00-4:00 p.m. in Mrs. Watson’s room, room 120.  When you sign up, an application will be sent home with your child. Applications are due Monday, August 27th. Hosted by Mrs. Watson and Mrs. Lutes.  In this club, students will get to use their creativity to bring a smile to someone else’s face. We will create a variety of crafts that will be donated to different charities in the community.


Choir (grades 4-6) - This club will be held every Monday, beginning 8/20, from 3-3:50 pm in the music room (room 118).  Hosted by Ms. Denny.


Color Guard (grades 5-6)  - This club will be held every Tuesday, beginning 9/4, from 3:00-3:30 pm in the music room (room 118).  Hosted by Ms. Denny. There will be auditions for placement and assignments for which performances the students are in. No cuts depending on how many attend.
